OMITSUTA is a design brand by Naomi, a textile artist who reinterprets shibori, the Japanese technique of folding and shaping fabric, into contemporary, sculptural forms.

Rooted in craftsmanship and cultural connection, OMITSUTA now unfolds into two complementary lines:

  • The Original Artisanal Collection, made-to-order and handcrafted by Naomi in her Swiss studio. Each piece is unique, carrying the intimacy of the hand and the rhythm of the making process.

  • The Studio Collection, developed in collaboration with a Japanese company specialized in shibori and produced in their production facility in China. Combining human expertise with mechanical precision, this collaboration allows OMITSUTA’s language of folds and textures to reach a wider audience.

Originally a 100% made-to-order brand, OMITSUTA now embraces a new balance between artisanal production and mindful manufacturing.
This evolution reflects Naomi’s desire to share shibori beyond her studio, while preserving the values that define her work: slowness, integrity, and intention.

Even as production expands, OMITSUTA will never mass-produce.
Each piece is made in limited quantities — just enough to stay alive and to let the craft breathe.
OMITSUTA stands against overconsumption and celebrates a slower rhythm, where objects are created to last, to be touched, and to be treasured.

Welcome to OMITSUTA. ♡
